Hai Phong Police build image of the brave and humane police officer to serve the people

PSNews - The Hai Phong Municipal Police on April 16 held a conference to review the 5-year implementation of Directive No.05 of the Ministry of Public Security on studying and following Uncle Ho's Six Teachings; 2-year implementation of Directive No.05 of the Politburo on studying and following ideology, morals and style of President Ho Chi Minh; and 1-year implementation of the movement "Building on People’s Public Security Officers’ qualities of bravery and humanity and dedication to the people.”

The event saw the presence of Senior Lieutenant General Nguyen Van Thanh, member of the Party Central Committee, Deputy Minister of Public Security; and Mr. Nguyen Van Tung, Chairman of the Hai Phong Provincial People's Committee.

Over the past year, the implementation of Directive No.05 of the Ministry of Public Security, Directive No.05 of the Politburo and the movement "Building on People’s Public Security Officers’ qualities of bravery and humanity and dedication to the people” has made positive changes in tasks performance of the local police force, contributing to maintaining political security, social order and safety. Many outstanding and effective models have been promoted and multiplied during the movements.

For their outstanding achievements, the municipal police force has received 5 letters of merit from the Prime Minister over the past 5 years while 243 organizations and individuals of the Hai Phong Police Department were awarded medals and orders of various kinds and "Excellent Emulation Soldier" titles from the State President and the Prime Minister. The Ministry of Public Security and the Hai Phong Municipal People's Committee have also complimented thousands of outstanding organizations and individuals.

At the conference, authorized by the State President, Senior Lieutenant General Nguyen Van Thanh handed the title of "Hero of the People's Armed Forces" to Senior Colonel Le Hong Thang, Head of the Social Order Crime Investigation Police Division of the Hai Phong Police, for his outstanding achievements in maintaining political security, social order and safety.

Speaking at the conference, Senior Lieutenant General Nguyen Van Thanh urged the city’s police to review and renovate contents and methods of emulation movements in a practical and innovative manner in line with the  political tasks of each subordinate unit.

Senior Lieutenant General Nguyen Van Thanh also stressed that each unit, each agency should focus on some specific missions, such as the implementation of the emulation movement "For national security" while they should determine the study and implementation of Uncle Ho's Six Teachings as a key task in force building work. Local police forces should also swiftly complete the organizational streamlining as required by the Ministry of Public Security.

At the conference, 10 organizations and individuals of the Hai Phong Municipal Police were awarded Emulation Flags and Certificates of Merit from the Ministry of Public Security. Martyr Bui Tien Tuong, former Deputy Chief of the Hung Vuong Ward Police Post, Hong Bang district, who sacrificed himself while performing his duty in 2016, was posthumously awarded the Bravery Order by the State President.
