Hanoi Fire Police inspects fire safety regulations at 1,109 premises

PSNews - The Hanoi Municipal Fire Police Department is currently carrying out comprehensive inspections on fire safety over premises and public places in the capital city.

Accordingly, in July, the Hanoi Municipal Fire Police in coordination with functional forces inspected 1,109 facilities and skyscrapers, of which 426 constructions were found violating fire safety regulations.

This inspection drive aims to improve the effectiveness of fire prevention and fighting, and the state management of fire prevention and fighting across the city. During inspections, the fire police force and functional units will resolutely penalize any violations.

As of July, Hanoi city had 287 in-use buildings and facilities that violate fire safety regulations.

In addition, the city still has 24 apartment buildings under construction that are detected violating regulations on fire prevention. Particularly, the investors of 5 constructions refused to fix their fire safety violations. The Hanoi Fire Police is completing documents to strictly handle those violations in these buildings in accordance with the laws.

The Hanoi Fire Police also reported that the fire and explosion situation in the city remained complicated with large fire incidents, causing serious human and property losses, and affecting people's lives.

In the first 6 months of 2018, the city had 411 fire incidents, including 2 large-scale fires, 7 serious fires, 6 large fires with serious damages, and 55 average fires, killing 4 people and injuring 9 others . The fire incidents also caused a total loss of VND 263 billion, and burnt down 1.8 hectares of forest.
