Hanoi police ensures security for the State funeral

PSNews - The Public Security Forces have ensured absolute safety and security for the funeral procession of late President Tran Dai Quang to his final resting place in his home village, Ninh Binh province.

During the 2-days State funeral, functional forces under the Ministry of Public Security implemented various plans to ensure social security, safety and order as well as traffic safety for the delegations of the Party, the State, the National Assembly, the Government, the Vietnam Fatherland Front, ministries, organizations, localities and thousands of people from all walking of life, as well as international delegations paying last respect to President Tran Dai Quang.

At 8.25 am on September 27, the hearse carrying the coffin of President Tran Dai Quang left the National Funeral Hall at No.5 Tran Thanh Tong Street. The funeral procession went along main streets, stopped over at some landmarks of Hanoi, visited his home and then headed to the President's home village in Kim Son District, Ninh Binh Province.

A large number of public security officers were deployed along the travelling route and at stopovers of the funeral procession, and security protection belts were established and maintained around the clock.

According to Senior Colonel Dao Vinh Thang, Head of the Hanoi Municipal Traffic Police Sub-department, in order to ensure social security, order and traffic safety for the State funeral of late President Tran Dai Quang, Hanoi’s traffic  police in collaboration with the Traffic Police Department, the Guard Police Department and the police force in localities had drawn up plans to regulate traffic flows in the city; at the same time, they directly guided and managed the parking of vehicles at the National Funeral Hall and its neighborhoods to minimize traffic congestions and ensure traffic safety for people.

"The unit also drew plans to mobilize forces and means to accompany and ensure traffic safety for the funeral procession on the route from the National Funeral Hall to his home in Hanoi and his resting place in Ninh Binh," Senior Colonel Dao Vinh Thang added.
