Hanoi police launch anti-crime campaign

The municipal Police Department of Hanoi held a meeting to review the implementation of Plan 3 issued by the Ministry of Public Security (MPS) and launch a campaign to ensure security and order for the upcoming lunar New Year holiday (Tet).

Over the past 4 months of implementing Plan 3, the number of criminal cases in the capital city has reduced by 11.7% while criminal offences has dropped by 7% compared to the previous period. Over 87% of the cases has successfully been investigated.

Several specific kinds of crime also tended to decline. Police in districts, including Hoan Kiem, Hoang Mai, Dong Anh, Gia Lam, Chuong My and Phu Xuyen, have succeeded in ensuring public order and security.

The city’s police have successfully investigated a number of major economic, environmental and drug-related cases.

The municipal Police Department launched three campaigns to actively prevent and fight crimes, ensure security and order, especially during the upcoming Traditional New Year.

Speaking at the meeting, Lieutenant General Nguyen Hai Trung, Director of Hanoi municipal Police Department, asked all sub-units to seriously implement the anti-crime plans.

The city police should advise local authorities to mobilize all people to join the crime prevention and combat campaign, support and back the police forces to fulfil their duties.

On behalf of the Directorate of the municipal Police Department, Lieutenant General Nguyen Hai Trung officially ordered all police subunits in the city to seriously implement the anti-crime campaign, starting from December 15, 2021 to February 14, 2022.
