HCMC police officers turned patchy walls into beautiful mural street

PSNews – The Ho Chi Minh City (HCMC) Police Department on December 3 held a ceremony to unveil the latest “Beautiful Vietnam" mural project.

This is the 8th artistic mural project in a series of works implemented by the HCMC Police Department.

The project is to celebrate the upcoming 50th anniversary of the Liberation of the South and National Reunification Day (April 30, 1975-2025) and the 80th founding anniversary of the People's Public Security Forces (August 19, 1945-2025).

The project is also an activity in response to the 2023 National Volunteer Festival and the International Day of People with Disabilities (December 3).

Prior to this, the local police force has advised the City’s 138 Steering Committee to carry out over 3,000 dissemination campaigns on removing illegal advertisements of all kinds on walls and other items in local residential areas.

As a result, some patchy walls on Vo Thi Sau street (District No.3), which were filled with illegal advertisement papers and paintings have been turned into colorful murals portraying Vietnam landscapes and people.

The National Volunteer Festival included exchanging plastic or recyclable waste for trees or home utensils, forums on volunteering, training programs for volunteers to support traffic safety, the final round of Ho Chi Minh City's ideas contest, the Proud Volunteers playground, and a dance performance.
