The inspection aims to examine the current supply and use of medications and equipment at some hospitals, and assess the impact of medical supplies shortages on the quality of medical examination and treatment of the hospitals.
Of the 4 teams, one will examine health systems in the 25 provinces and cities of the Red River Delta and the northern midland and mountainous regions while the second team will inspect health facilities in 14 provinces along the northern and central coasts.
The third works with hospitals in 11 provinces in the Central Highlands and southeast regions, and the forth inspect 13 provinces and cities in the Mekong Delta.
Each team will inspect at least one provincial general hospital, one specialized provincial-level hospital and one district-level hospital or medical center.
The ministry asked the teams to identify difficulties and obstacles and recommend central- and local- level health management agencies to address the shortage of medications.
