Impacts of 4th Industrial Revolution on building of Public Security Forces

PSNews- Deputy Minister of Public Security Nguyen Van Thanh had talks on the impacts of the 4th Industrial Revolution with students of a refreshment course on education management organized by the General Department of Politics (G.D. 3).

Senior Lieutenant General Nguyen Van Thanh, Deputy Minister of Public Security on October 3 delivered a special lecture on impacts of the 4th Industrial Revolution; non-traditional security; new requirements for the education and training contributing to building a professional, elite and gradually modernized police force in the current situation to students of the course on education management  organized by the G.D. 3.

The talk was also attended by various leaders of the G.D. 3 and its relevant Departments.

Regarding the 4th Industrial Revolution, Deputy Minister Nguyen Van Thanh outlined 15 key areas, including the Internet of things and artificial intelligence, 3D printing technology, robotics and renewable energy. He also introduced 21 digital products shaping the future of the digital technology by 2025 published by the World Economic Forum.

The Deputy Minister emphasized that the 4.0 revolution has impacts on various aspects, including politics, culture and socio-economy, security, immigration as well as governments and people.

Regarding the impacts on the building of the public security forces, Deputy Minister Thanh outlined 4 main issues, stressing that force building is a complex mission requiring careful preparation, strict observance of disciplines, good methodology and scientific approaches from recruitment to training, work assignment and supervision and inspection.

Regarding the need to adjust education and training within the force, Deputy Minister Nguyen Van Thanh emphasized the shift of the education process from conveying knowledge to developing comprehensive capacities and qualities of learners with a focus on combining between learning and practice in the education and training process and linking education and training development to the needs of socio-economic development and national defense;

The Deputy Minister urged relevant educational institutes within the public security forces to proactively bring into full play the positive aspects of the market mechanism while curbing the negative ones, , to ensure the socialist orientation in educational development.
