Internal Political Security Department reviews task performance in 2020

The Internal Political Security Department under the Ministry of Public Security held a meeting on December 16 to review its task performance in 2020 and roll out its working program for the internal security sector in 2021.

In 2020, the internal political security sector has successfully completed its missions, especially the task of ensuring internal political security for the congresses of Party organizations at all levels in preparation for the upcoming 13th National Party Congress.

Additionally, the Internal Political Security Department has actively coordinated with specialized agencies under the MPS, as well as other ministries, sectors, and local authorities to grasp situations and promptly handle complicated internal security issues.

Regarding their tasks in the coming time, Deputy Minister Luong Tam Quang requested the sector to ready their forces and measures to ensure absolute internal political security for the upcoming 13th National Party Congress, the elections of the 15th National Assembly and People's Councils for the 2021 - 2026 term.

The sector was also asked to take effective measures to further strengthen the State management of the media and press sector in terms of security, and promptly handle acts of taking advantage of the freedoms of speech and press to conduct sabotage activities against domestic political security.

The Deputy Minister also urged the Internal Political Security Department to pay more attention to building its Party organization and a contingent of internal political security officers with strong political stance and revolutionary virtues.
