“Magical eyes” contribute to preventing crimes in Cho Moi

PSNews – In order to ensure security and order in locality, the police force of Cho Moi District, An Giang Province has coordinated with relevant units to install security cameras across the district with a total value of nearly 1.5 billion VND funded mainly by local people.

Cho Moi District has a large area of 369 square meters with 18 communes and towns, the most populous locality in An Giang Province. The installation of 302 high-speed Internet “magical eyes” along with the CCTV systems of local households and agencies, businesses and schools have contributed to maintaining security and order in the locality.

Thanks to the security cameras, the Cho Moi District police could quickly detect and handle 20 cases of robbery, fighting and public disorder as well as traffic accidents. Particularly, the “magical eyes” helped the local police detected and arrested suspect Cao Phuoc Nguyen (aged 35, residing in Rach Gia City, Kien Giang Province) who had committed robbery.

The local police force in collaboration with functional forces had earlier conducted careful surveys on locations to install the security cameras. The camera locations  are at the boundary of administrative zones, crossroads, junctions, residential areas, market areas, hot spots of security and order. The installation of security camera system also helps to raise people’s law observance.

According to Colonel Pham Van Bang, Deputy Head of the Cho Moi District Police, the operation of the “security camera” system has brought about initial practical results, contributing to successfully handling 16 criminal cases. Most of the camera- recorded data have helped the authorities to identify and arrest suspects.

Colonel Bang affirmed that the camera security model is an effective solution that combines professional prevention and social prevention while contributing effectively to fighting crime. It facilitates security and order and mobilizes social strength for the movement “All people protecting National Security.”
