Minister To Lam meets Secretary-General of the National Security Council of Thailand

PSNews – Senior Lieutenant General To Lam, Minister of Public Security on August 6 received General Wanlop Rugsanaoh, Secretary-General of the National Security Council (NSC) of Thailand, Thai Head of the Vietnam – Thailand Joint Working Group (JWG) on Politics and Security.

General Wanlop Rugsanaoh is on a 3-day trip to Vietnam from August 5 at the invitation of Senior Lieutenant General Bui Van Nam, Deputy Minister of Public Security, and Vietnamese Head of the Vietnam – Thailand JWG.

Speaking at the event, Minister To Lam extended the congratulations to the functional forces of Thailand in coordination with international experts on their successful rescue mission of the trapped football team in Tham Luang cave, Chiang Rai province, last July.

Minister Lam also appreciated the outcomes of the 10th Meeting of the JWG, taking place earlier on the same day, and emphasized that the cooperative ties between Vietnam and Thailand in general and the Ministry of Public Security  (MPS) of Vietnam and the NSC of Thailand in particular have seen positive developments in the past time.

On the basis of the fine relations between the MPS of Vietnam and the Thai NSC, Minister Lam hoped that both sides would further promote cooperation in all fields of mutual concern, particularly in politics and security, exchange information and share experience promptly and effectively in prevention and fight against crimes, especially transnational crimes, terrorism, drug-related crimes and human trafficking.

He also suggested the two sides ensure security and safety for diplomatic offices, businesses and citizens of one country in the other country, bringing benefits for both countries and contributing to peace, stability, cooperation and development of the ASEAN region and the world.

General Wanlop Rugsanaoh thanked Minister Lam for his kind reception. He also expressed his hope that the Vietnamese MPS and Thai NSC would promote cooperation, contributing to the fine relations and cooperation between the two nations.
