Minister To Lam meets with Public Security delegation to attend Youth Union’s 12th national congress

Secretary of the Public Security Central Party Committee and Minister of Public Security General To Lam chaired the meeting with a delegation of the Public Security Forces to attend the 12th National Congress of the Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union for term 2022 – 2027, on the afternoon of December 13, in Hanoi.

Present at the meeting were Deputy Secretary of the Public Security Central Party Committee and Deputy Minister of Public Security Senior Lieutenant General Tran Quoc To; Chief of Office of the Ministry of Public Security Lieutenant General To An Xo; Director of the Department of Party and Political Work Lieutenant General Nguyen Ngoc Toan; member of the Central Executive Committee of the Youth Union and Vice President of the Central Committee of the Vietnam Youth Association Trinh Thi Mai Phuong as well as delegates to attend the meeting.

The 12th National Congress of Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union was held from December 14 to 16, 2022 in Hanoi capital with 980 delegates representing more than 22 million Vietnamese youth union members and members. South at home and abroad. The People's Police force had 50 delegates to attend the 12th National Congress of Youth Union. Member of the Central Committee of the Youth Union and Secretary of the Youth Union chapter of the Ministry of Public Security Lieutenant Colonel Dong Duc Vu is expected to join the Presidium and chair a discussion session of the congress.

Immediately after the Congress, the Youth Union chapter of the Public Security Forces will hold the Youth Day to celebrate the success of the Congress.

In particular, the youth Ministry of Public Security will coordinate with the Hanoi Youth Union chapter to organize series of activities on the morning of December 17 on Trinh Cong Son pedestrian street, including jogging to raise funds to plant trees under the program "Millions of green trees for a green Vietnam", supporting people to get identification numbers and apply for chip-based ID cards and passports, holding voluntary blood donation. 

Meanwhile, some 1,000 officers of units under the Ministry and the Ho Chi Minh City Police Department will participate in the Youth Day with such activities as building a traffic culture, holding voluntary blood donation with the theme "Dear blood for dear comrades", cultural exchange and sports programs, “and Volunteer Saturday".

Speaking at the meeting, Minister To Lam acknowledged and praised the efforts and achievements that the youth union members of the entire People's Public Security Forces in general and the members of the delegation of the People's Public Security forces to attend the 12th National Congress of the Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union in particular have attained in the past time.

Minister To Lam suggested that the delegates of the People's Public Security Forces should participate in the Congress with the highest sense of responsibility and actively join sidelines activities, and contribute wholehearted and intellectual ideas to completing the draft political report and other documents of the Congress.

After the congress, Minister To Lam asked each young public security officer to be aware of their responsibility for implementing Resolution No. 12-NQ/TW issued on March 16, 2022 by the Politburo on enhancing the building of truly clean, strong, regular, elite and modern People's Public Security Forces, meeting the task requirements in the new situation.

They should also try their best to study and work while restlessly improving professional qualifications, scientific and technological knowledge and foreign languages, and organizing practical activities in celebration of 75 years since Uncle Ho gave Six Teachings to the People's Pubic Security Forces (March 11, 1948 - March 11, 2023) and 92 years of establishment of Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union (March 26, 1931 - March 26, 2023).

On behalf of the People's Public Security Forces’ delegation to attend the 12th National Congress of the Youth Union, Lieutenant Colonel Dong Duc Vu promised that all members of the delegation will follow Minister To Lam’s instructions, contributing positively to the success of the Congress.
