Minister To Lam visits family of fallen firefighters

PSNews - Minister of Public Security General To Lam, leading a delegation of the Ministry of Public Security (MPS), on the afternoon of August 2 visited and offered condolences to the family of the three fallen firefighters who had sacrificed themselves while fighting fire and rescuing victims at No. 231 Quan. Hoa street, Cau Giay district, Hanoi.

The visiting delegation included Chairman of the Hanoi People's Committee Tran Sy Thanh, and leaders of agencies of the MPS and the Hanoi Municipal Police Department.

After offering incense and paying tribute to fallen Colonel Dang Anh Quan, Minister To Lam presented condolences to the family.

He was touched saying that Colonel Dang Anh Quan and his teammates are very typical examples, showing the heroic tradition of the fire and rescue police force and the People's Public Security Forces as a whole, who are never afraid of hardships, danger and sacrifice while performing their duties to protect people's lives as people's safety is their first and foremost priority.

Leaders of the Party and State also sent their condolences to the families of the three fallen firefighters. State President Nguyen Xuan Phuc also posthumously awarded the “Victory” Order of first class, to the three policemen.

During the talks with the family, Minister To Lam affirmed that he will continue to pay attention to, take care of and implement policies towards the families of comrades who die while performing their duties.

On the visit to Lieutenant Do Duc Viet's family, Minister To Lam also said that the Central Public Security Party Committee and the leadership of the Ministry of Public Security always pursue the policy to ensure absolute safety for all public security officers on duty. But professional risks can never be all removed and unfortunate cases occasionally happen.

He stressed, the heroic sacrifice of Senior Lieutenant Do Duc Viet has once again displayed the wholehearted devotion to the people of the fire and rescue police force in particular, and the People's Public Security Forces in general.

Senior Lieutenant Do Duc Viet and his teammates rescued eight people from fire, and  they were trying to put out fire and rescue more victims while parts of the ceiling fell onto them.

Of the three fallen firefighters, Corporal Nguyen Dinh Phuc was the youngest, dying when he was just 19 years old.

Visiting the family of Corporal Nguyen Dinh Phuc, Minister To Lam emphasized that the sacrifice of Corporal Nguyen Dinh Phuc and his teammates is a great loss to the family as well as to the police force.

But all officers and soldiers of the People's Public Security Forces never hesitate to sacrifice themselves for the people and Fatherland, General To Lam affirmed

The bravery and sacrifice of the three firefighters have left a deep impression on the people, and that has made the people love more and trust more the fire and rescue police force.
