Minister To Lam visits Kon Tum Provincial Police Department

PSNews - Member of the Politburo and Minister of Public Security General To Lam, leading a working delegation of the Ministry of Public Security, paid a working trip to the Kon Tum Provincial Police Department, on the morning of November 30.

At the meeting between the visiting delegation and leaders of the local police units, Director of the Kon Tum Provincial Police Department Senior Colonel Nguyen Hong Nhat said that the local police force has closely followed the resolutions of higher-level Party committees and instructions of leaders of the Ministry of Public Security on ensuring order and security.

The Kon Tum Provincial Police Department actively drew up the yearly work plan based on the documents and directed local police units to effectively implement the work plan and other assigned tasks while attaching much importance to building a truly clean, strong, regular, elite and modern Kon Tum provincial police force.

Regarding key tasks of the local police in the coming time, Minister To Lam asked that the Kon Tum Provincial Police Department continue to sustainably reduce the crime rate, mobilize forces to prevent and combat crimes during the turn of the lunar New Year, saying that crimes tend to increase in the period.

He underlined that the local police should take preventive social and professional measures to deter and suppress criminals, and create conditions for local people to enjoy the 2024 Lunar New Year and early spring festivals.

Next, the minister requested the local police to strengthen immigration management to early detect and prevent illegal immigration, mobilize local people to give up illegally-stored military weapons, explosives and support tools, frequently inspect fire safety at high-risk-of-fire places and craft firefighting plans for various scenarios, and ensure traffic order and safety.

Finally the local police should expand the movement “All people protect national security”, and team up with the local military units to firmly protect national security and ensure order and security along the borderlines.
