Minister To Lam works with Department of Economic Security

PSNews - General To Lam, Minister of Public Security on June 7 worked with the Department of Economic Security under the Ministry of Public Security (MPS) on ensuring economic security and the implementation of Directive No.12 of the Politburo.

At the meeting, Lieutenant General Nguyen Dinh Thuan, Director General of the Department of Economic Security briefed the Minister on the economic security sector’s task performance and results of the implementation of Directive No.12 on strengthening the Party’s leadership over economic security in the context of socialist-oriented market economy development and international economic integration over the past time.

Accordingly, in the context of the COVID-19 pandemic, the Department has strictly followed the Resolution of the Public Security Central Party Committee as well as the Directive of the Minister on the major tasks for the Public Security Forces, including those for the economic security force in 2021.

The Department also actively coordinated with the local police forces to implement plans and measures to protect security and safety of key economic projects, national economic establishments, as well as important national events and activities of the Party and State leaders while ensuring economic security in the context of the COVID-19 pandemic.

Addressing the meeting, Minister To Lam spoke highly of the economic security sector’s efforts and achievements in performing its tasks over the past time.

Regarding its key missions in the coming time, the Minister asked the Department of Economic Security to comprehensively evaluate the effectiveness of policies and the practical work of ensuring economic security in the context of socialist-oriented market economy development and international economic integration.

The force should also actively grasp economic situations to work out an overall strategy on ensuring economic security.

The Minister also suggested that the Department should guide the entire economic security police force to successfully complete their assigned tasks, while focusing on creating breakthroughs in ensuring economic security.
