Ministry of Public Security review yearly task performance of Public Security Forces

PSNews - The Public Security Central Party Committee and the Ministry of Public Security solemnly held the 78th National Public Security Conference to evaluate the security and order situation and review the results of the task performance of the Public Security Forces in 2022, on the morning of December 19, 2022, in Hanoi.

Politburo member and Prime Minister of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam Pham Minh Chinh attended and delivered a keynote speech at the conference, which was chaired by Politburo member, Secretary of the Public Security Central Party Committee and Minister of Public Security General To Lam.

Making opening remarks, Minister To Lam stated that the 78th National Public Security Conference focused on discussing both achievements and limitations  as well on drawing lessons from practical operations in 2022.

The conference also aimed to correctly analyze the security and order situation and forecast situational developments to draw up orientations for tasks of the entire Public Security Forces in 2023 as well as measures to successfully implement Decision No. 12-NQ/TW.

After the opening session, on behalf of the Public Security Central Party Committee and the Ministry of Public Security, Member of the Party Central Committee and Deputy Minister of Public Security Senior Lieutenant General Luong Tam Quang  presented a summary report on the security and order situation in the country and results of the task performance of the Public Security Forces in 2022, and work plan for 2023.

Overview of the event.

Regarding the task performance in 2022, the People's Public Security Forces actively grasped the situation, actively advised the Party and State to promulgate many important guidelines, policies and strategies on national security, socio-economic development and foreign affairs, while firmly safeguarding national security. 

The year of 2022 has also marked an important milestone in history of the development of the Vietnamese People's Public Security Forces, when the Ministry of Public Security set up the Permanent Office of UN Peacekeeping and sent police officers for the first time to join UN peacekeeping operations.

In 2022, the Ministry of Public Security has aslo made a bold mark in the State management of information security, taken the lead in promoting digital transformation and building e-Government as well as implementing the Government's Project 06 on stepping up the application of population data, electronic identification and electronic authentication to national digital transformation in the period of 2022 - 2025, with a vision to 2030 in all fields, contributing to socio-economic development.

At the conference, Member of the Party Central Committee, Deputy Secretary of the Public Security Central  Party Committee and Deputy Minister of Public Security Senior Lieutenant General Tran Quoc To  presented a report summarizing the initial results of the implementation of Resolution No. 12-NQ/ TW issued on March 16, 2022 by the Politburo on building truly clean, strong, regular, elite and modern People's Public Security Forces, meeting the taks requirements of the forces in the current situation (Resolution No. 12).

Speaking at the conference, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh praised the Public Security Forces for their greate effort and achievementsin 2022, saying that such achievements contributed positively to the country’s general achievements. 

According to him, the People's Public Security Froces had a high sense of responsibility, and always ready to go anywhere, undertake any assignments given by the Party and the people.
