Over the past time, the Department of Immigration has closely coordinated with the Department of Technical Services, the Department of Surveillance, the Security Investigation Department and the Thai Nguyen Provincial Police Department to successfully investigate a case, in which a criminal group organized illegal entry of Vietnamese citizens into Taiwan by sea.

By now, the police have arrested two suspects and seized many related documents and pieces of evidence.

According to the initial investigation results, the suspects had organized three trips, bringing 38 Vietnamese citizens to illegally enter Taiwan.

The elimination of the illegal immigration line is an outstanding achievement of the involved police units in implementing directions of the Public Security Party Central Committee and leaders of the Ministry of Public Security on preventing and combating transnational organized crimes.

The case also reflected the close and effective coordination among involved under-ministerial police departments and police departments of provinces and cities in combating a complex criminal group, contributing to deterring criminals, preventing crime and strengthening people’s trust in the Public Security Forces.

On behalf of the Public Security Central Party Committee and leaders of the Ministry of Public Security, Deputy Minister Pham The Tung praised the police department for their victory.

The Deputy Minister requested the Department of Immigration to further coordinate with relevant police units to expand the investigation of the case to bring all involved to court in accordance with the laws.

The Deputy Minister wished the police department more success in performing its mission in the coming time.
