MPS leaders meet retired high-ranking public security officers in central Vietnam

PSNews – The Central Party Committee of Public Security and the Ministry of Public Security (MPS) on January 25 organized a meeting with generations of retired high-ranking officers of the MPS in central Vietnam on the occasion of the upcoming 2019 Lunar New Year festival. Senior Lieutenant General To Lam, Politburo member, Secretary of the Central Party Committee of Public Security, Minister of Public Security chaired the event.

The event also saw the presence of Lieutenant General Nguyen Van Son, Deputy Minister of Public Security; Mr. Truong Quang Nghia, member of the Party Central Committee, Secretary of the Da Nang Municipal People’s Committee; Senior Lieutenant General Le The Tiem, former member of the Party Central Committee, former Deputy Minister of Public Security; Lieutenant General Luong Tam Quang, Director of the MPS Office.

Major General Vu Xuan Vien, Director of the Da Nang Municipal Police Department; as well as leaders of local police units, revolutionary senior police officers, Heroes of the People's Armed Forces, general-rank officers and former leaders of the police units of Da Nang City, Quang Tri, Thua Thien-Hue, Quang Nam and Quang Ngai provinces.

At the meeting, on behalf of the Central Party Committee of Public Security and the MPS, Minister To Lam warmly welcomed the delegates and briefed them on the activities and achievements of the Public Security Forces in 2018. In particular, the Public Security Forces closely followed the leadership and guidance of the Party, the State and well implemented its political missions. 

Thanks to the close coordination of the People’s Army and other ministries and branches as well as the great support from the people, the Public Security Forces have overcome all difficulties and challenges, attained many victories and achievements, and successfully fulfilled all assigned tasks. The good deeds and achievements of the Public Security Forces were highly appreciated by Party and State leaders and people.

Minister To Lam spoke highly of the contribution of generations of senior leaders and officers of the MPS over the time. He said that, many retired officers are still very keen on the cause of protecting national security and maintaining social order. They have contributed to the process of drafting and completing the Public Security Law and the force restructuring.

Minister To Lam affirmed that such sentiment and constant dedication are sources of encouragement for the current generation of public security officers and soldiers. He hope that in the future, retired public security officers will continue to give recommendations to the MPS and to local police units, so that the Public Security Forces could successfully fulfill its tasks.

On behalf of the participating delegates, Major Vu Minh Son, former Director of the Quang Nam Provincial Police Department was touched thanking the Central Party Committee of Public Security and the MPS for organizing this annual meaningful meeting. 

He also congratulated the Public Security Forces on the achievements in the past years and believed that the leaders of the MPS and the Minister will continue to lead the forces to attain more victories in the coming time. He affirmed that all retired public security officers will continue to support and participate in activities of maintaining security at their residential areas, and mobilize people to actively participate in the movement “All people protecting national security” in locality.
