In order to actively deal with natural disasters and fire in 2021, the PPPS focus on the following major missions:
1. Strictly follow the directions of the Prime Minister, the State Committee for Climate Change, the Central Steering Committee for Disaster Prevention and Control, and the National Committee for Incident and Disaster Response, Search and Rescue on climate change response, disaster prevention, search and rescue, and civil defense in 2021.
2. Provide comprehensive and up-to-date information about natural disasters and other negative weather phenomena on the MPS Portal and Website of the MPS Steering Committee for Incident and Disaster Response, Search and Rescue to raise people's awareness of climate change and disaster prevention as well as promptly respond to natural disasters and effectively implement search and rescue in 2021.
3. Implement the MPS’s Plan No.17 and Circular No. 05 and the Prime Minister’s Decision No.28 on climate change response, disaster prevention, search and rescue and civil defense in 2021.
4. Organize training courses to provide knowledge and skills in climate change response, disaster prevention, search and rescue and civil defense for police officers at district level, while holding specialized training drives on underwater rescue skills and use of means and equipment for rescue, disaster relief for public security officers at all levels.
5. All public security agencies and units are asked to review their operations in climate change response, disaster prevention, search and rescue and civil defense in 2020 and work out their plans for 2021.
6. Thoroughly grasp and strictly implement the instructions given by the Deputy Minister - Head of the MPS Steering Committee for Climate Change, Natural Disaster Prevention and Control, and Search and Rescue at the MPS conference reviewing climate change response, disaster prevention, search and rescue, and civil defense in 2020.
The police forces should maintain security, social order and traffic safety as well as deny criminals from stealing State and people’s property when natural disasters happen.
All public security agencies and units should inspect their assigned means for disaster prevention and rescue, and ask for more if the numbers are insufficient.
Additionally, they should promote information dissemination on natural disasters in localities.
