MPS requests agencies and units to strengthen COVID-19 prevention and control

PSNews – Due to the complicate development of the COVID-19 pandemic, the Steering Committee of Ministry of Public Security (MPS) for Disease Prevention and Control requests all public security units and agencies to seriously implement the Notice No.253/TB-VPCP issued by the Government Office and the Conclusion made by Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc at a meeting on COVID-19 prevention and control on July 27. Particularly, public security agencies and units should:

Thoroughly grasp the guidelines and approaches to prevent and control the pandemic in the new situation according to Directive No.19 / CT-TTg of the Prime Minister.

Coordinate with other functional forces to increase patrols and checks to detect illegal entry on border crossings, border gates and promptly apply medical measures and handle violations according to the laws.

 Strengthen inspection over hotels, accommodation establishments and public places gathering foreigners, and discover gangs illegally transporting foreigners to Vietnam. 

Closely collaborate with the Procuracy and the Court to investigate, prosecute and strictly handle cases of illegal immigration, firstly cases in Da Nang City, Quang Nam, Quang Ninh and Tay Ninh Provinces; at the same time strictly handle accommodation establishments renting accommodations to illegal immigrants.

Work closely with relevant units to investigate, trace and identify areas with COVID-19 patients, especially those relating to patients No. 416, 418, 419, 420 as well as support medical forces and local authorities to set up quarantine zones.

Ensure political security, order and social safety in the localities as well as in centralized quarantine zones and isolated areas; promptly detect and strictly handle acts of taking advantage of the pandemic to sell fake goods or sell goods at high prices or illegal transportation of medical equipment and materials.

Strictly handle those who fail to declare or make untruthful statements about their travel and medical history, those who escape from the quarantine center, fail to abide by regulations and measures to prevent and fight the pandemic, acts of opposing officials on duty and acts of spreading untruthful information on the pandemic situation in cyberspace.

Review, check and classify foreigners residing and entering the locality illegally (by July 27) and send the reports to the MPS before August 3.

Increase information and communication activities on measures of COVID-19 prevention and fight, while enhancing measures to protect public security officers and soldiers from COVID-19.
