Senior Lieutenant General Nguyen Van Son, Deputy Minister of Public Security and Head of the Steering Committee for Pandemic Prevention and Control under the Ministry of Public Security (MPS) on August 10 bid farewell to a medical mission of the MPS before they set off to Ho Chi Minh City and Southern provinces.

The mission, consisting of 46doctors, nurses and medical workers from the Public Security Department of Health, Hospital 19/8 and Public Security Hospital of Traditional Medicines, is assigned to support Southern localities’ efforts in the fight against the COVID-19 pandemic.

In his speech at the event, Deputy Minister Nguyen Van Son stressed that Ho Chi Minh City is a COVID-19 hotspot in the South with an increasing number of infected cases. Therefore, he asked the public security medical staff to stand united and do their utmost and join hands with the Southern local efforts to stamp out the disease.

The Deputy Minister also requested every member of the medical mission to strictly follow the regulations on pandemic prevention and control when performing their duties, as well as heighten their sense of responsibility to successfully complete their assigned tasks.
