Nationwide information tour to mark 60th anniversary of the Ho Chi Minh Trail starts in Binh Phuoc

PSNews – The Binh Phuoc Provincial People’s Committee in May 11 in collaboration with the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism launched a Nationwide Information Tour Program entitled “Truong Son – the Legendary Trail” to mark the 60th anniversary of the Ho Chi Minh Trail and the Traditional Day of the Truong Son Army Corps (May 19, 1959-2019).

The festival aims at disseminating the historical value and significance of the war against US imperialists for national salvation, educating the political ideology and patriotism, and arousing revolutionary heroism and great national solidarity and national pride to next generations, contributing to strengthening the people’s trust in the cause of national construction and defense and international integration process under the leadership of the Communist Party of Vietnam.

The festival would also promote the strength of the national solidarity and the active and creative spirit of the armed forces and people as a whole while enhancing the aspirations for peace, national independence, sovereignty, unity and territorial integrity.

The launching ceremony drew the participation of over 600 speakers, artists and musicians from 17 delegations of 17 cities and provinces nationwide.

The festival runs from May 10 to 15 in 8 provinces where the legendary Truong Son – Ho Chi Minh Trail runs through, namely Binh Phuoc, Nghe An, Ha Tinh, Quang Binh, Gia Lai, Kon Tum, Quang Nam and Thua Thien Hue. This is one of the major activities in 2019 of the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism.

Earlier, on May 10, the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism announced the Decision to recognize the Truong Son - Ho Chi Minh Trail’s ending point in Binh Phuoc province as a special national relic.
