The conference was held online connecting the Headquarters of the Ministry of Public Security (Hanoi city) to the police units in provinces and centrally-run cities as well as 199 Hospital, 30/4 Hospital.
Reporting on the results of epidemic prevention and control in the People's Public Security Forces in the first eight months of 2022, Director of the Department of Health Major General Pham Thi Lan Anh under Ministry of Public Security said that the current epidemic situation in Vietnam remains complicated and unpredictable as the Covid-19 patients in Vietnam is on the rise. By August 16, 2022, the whole country had recorded more than 11,000,000 Covid-19 cases, of which 10,030,276 people had recovered. The number of cases increased by 22.4% month-on-month.
However, the People's Public Security Forces have so far recorded only a few of Covid-19 cases.
Regarding other infectious diseases, the number of influenza A, hand-foot-mouth disease, malaria, measles and rabies cases decreased compared to the same period in 2021 but the figure tends to rise.
The Ministry of Public Security has injected the 3rd dose of Covid-19 vaccine to 100% public security officers and soldiers and is now giving the 4th injection to public security officers and soldiers.
Public security agencies and units at all levels have actively and seriously implemented measures to prevent and control epidemics and to protect the health of officers, soldiers, relatives, and detainees. In order to prevent epidemics in the coming time, Deputy Minister Le Van Tuyen requested that the Department of Health under the Ministry of Public Security proactively grasp new strains of the SARS-CoV-2 virus, new epidemics warned by the World Health Organization, and proposed plans in response to the outbreak of these new diseases in Vietnam.
* At the conference, on behalf of the Organizing Committee, Deputy Chief of the Office of the Ministry of Public Security Senior Colonel Nguyen Hong Nguyen announced the decision by the Minister of Public Security on strengthening the staff of the Steering Committee for Disease Prevention and Control of the Ministry of Public Security.
Accordingly, Deputy Minister of Public Security Major General Le Van Tuyen is the Head of the Steering Committee while the Director of the Department of Health is the Standing Deputy Head. Members of the Steering Committee include representatives of 17 agencies and units under the Ministry of Public Security and directors of major public security hospitals.
