People's Police College 2 cares needy people

PSNews – The People's Police College 2 (PPC2) on July 1 kicked off its summer voluntary campaign 2017 in Ho Chi Minh City under the theme “Youth of the PPC2 volunteers participating in building a Ho Chi Minh City of civilization, modernity and love.” Major General Vu Duc Khien, Rector of the PPC2, attended the event. 

According to Captain Ngo Thanh Son, Secretary of the PPC2’s Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union, the summer voluntary campaign 2017 will be organized in three communes of Nhuan Duc, Phu My Hung and An Nhon Tay of Cu Chi district, Ho Chi Minh city, with the participation of more than 100 officers, soldiers and cadets of the college.

During 12 days of this campaign, volunteers will visit and present gift to Vietnamese heroic mothers and families of policy beneficiaries, national contributors, and wounded soldiers. They will also offer free heath checkups and medicines and conduct dissemination on law. In addition, the volunteers will carry out some contents related to the new-style rural area construction program such as repairing rural roads, clearing up bushes, and the “forever-shining victory” project, which replaces old 200 frames of certificates of merit with new ones.

Major General Vu Duc Khien stressed that this is an annual political activity carrying humanitarian meaning to promote the pioneering and voluntary spirit among the college’s cadets and Youth Union members.

The voluntary campaign also aims to enhance the work of mass mobilization, contributing to improving the prestige of the public security force and raising trust among people. 

Previously, from May 8 to June 22 the PPC2 sent nearly 1,200 Youth Union members to Ben Cau and Trang Bang districts (Tay Ninh province) to implement the voluntary activities and the “three-together” program with local people.

The Youth Union members of the PPC2 have disseminated law to 3,500 people and Youth Union members, mobilized 2,000 people to participate in the “All people protecting national security” movement. The college also presented two gratitude and solidarity houses to localities, contributing 10,000 working days to support local people and handed gift to 56 national contributors’ families with a total value of 24.8 million VND.

The sent volunteers also joined hands to clean up seven district’s war cemeteries and commune’s martyrs’ memorial statues, supported local families in need with 16.3 million VND. The youths of the PPC2 have coordinated with communes’ police to ensure local security and order.
