People's Police University starts new academic year

HCMC - On September 30th, People’s Police University (PPU), office 1, Tan Phong Ward, Disctric 7, Ho Chi Minh city held the opening ceremony of the new academic year (2016-2017). Presented at the ceremony was Lieutenant General Nguyen Van Thanh, member of the Party Central Committee, Deputy Minister of Public Security; Major General Nguyen Van Son, deputy director of the General Political Department – Ministry of Public Security and representatives of the departments, institutes, universities within public security forces in southern regions.

Major General Trinh Van Thanh – Head of PPU read the opening speech. During last academic year, with the determination and continuous efforts of staffs and students, People's Police University has successfully completed the assigned tasks. The school has successfully organized the 40th anniversary of the traditional date (26/4/1976-26/4/2016) and received the Military Medal with First Class of the State.

Besides, the education quality is also improved. Last year, the school also receive the Emulation Flag from Ministry of Education and Training, following with many units and individuals were honored by the Ministry of Public Security.

In the academic year 2016 - 2017, the school will continue to promote the achievements of last year, implement successfully the directions of the Minister of Public Security with 6 main goals under the action slogan: "Solidarity - innovation; democracy - discipline; responsibility - effectiveness ".

On behalf of the Central Party Committee of Public Security, Ministry of Public Security leaders, Deputy Minister Nguyen Van Thanh has recognized and appreciated the efforts that teachers and students of the school had achieved over last school year. At the same time, he hopes that teachers and students will continue to promote the school’s image in the next school year.

He also said that the Ministry of Public Security recently held conference to kick off the competition in the 2016-2017 academic year among public security forces. The conference evaluated that the school has completed basically 2015-2016 school year tasks. 

Deputy Minister emphasized the main 5 tasks in the new school year. In particular, he pointed out: "We are entering the 4th stage of Science and Technology, the stage with strong growth of Robot industry, biotechnology and the integration of high technology in economic background. It related to our country particularly, especially with police forces, which requires us to pose new challenges. The world's security still exist many complex and unpredictable issue, which requires education and training activities to change vastly.

On the way of relocating and changing education and training method as well as system, the core value is the attitudes, goals and program structures, examination content and evaluation. Innovation here doesn’t mean doing in all aspects but to focus and promote the central goals with the suitable timing".

At the ceremony, Deputy Minister Nguyen Van Thanh, also made the first drum beat to start the academic year. He said that " Graduated students from PPU once start working has met both theoretical with practical requirements at work; but the new situation requires more effective applications, which means you have to improve your knowledge specifically in science and technology. The school needs to be responsible with the purpose to improve the quality of training of human resources, implement the idea "theory goes along with practice’.

PPU students have to study hardly with their best efforts in order to create the beautiful images of the school. The students also must define their unique features to recognize them as police, to differ them form any other universities! PPU students means you must have health, well-shooting and driving skills, good at foreign languages, excellent at information technology and other supporting knowledge ".
