People’s Public Security develops question bank for English banks

PSNews - Deputy Minister of Public Security Senior Lieutenant General Tran Quoc To Assoc. Prof., Dr., presided over a meeting of the Council on Appraising English Question Bank made by the Center for Foreign Languages and Informatics of the People's Security Academy, on the afternoon of November 30, in Hanoi.

The questions from the bank for English exams is designed based on the six levels of the Vietnamese Standardized Test of English Proficiency.

Speaking at the meeting, Deputy Minister Tran Quoc To said that leaders of the Ministry of Public Security have paid special attention to teaching foreign languages to students at all levels in public security schools in recent years.

In order to build high-quality human resources for the Public Security Forces, contributing to ensuring security and order in the current international integration process, the Minister of Public Security decided on various programs and plans to comprehensively renew and improve the quality of English teaching and learning at all public security schools. 

In fact, English proficiency is one of the criteria for appointment and promotion of public security officers at all levels.

Overview of the event.

At the meeting, delegates listened to the decision on the establishment of the Appraisal Council as well as reports on the development of software supporting the organization of English exams and the principles of developing the bank of questions for English exams in line with the six levels of the Vietnamese Standardized Test of English Proficiency. 

The Appraisal Council consists of 13 members and is led by Senior Lieutenant General Tran Quoc To while Director of the Department of Training Major General Do Anh Tuan Assoc. Prof., Dr., is the permanent member.

As soon as the English question bank is approved, the People’s Security Academy can exploit it for English exams as prescribed by the Ministry of Education and Training.
