PSNews - Major General Tran Quoc Trung, Deputy Director of the Traffic Police Department, Member of the Security and Health Subcommittee of the upcoming World Economic Security Forum on ASEAN 2018 (WEF ASEAN 2018) chaired a meeting of relevant forces to discuss approaches to ensure traffic safety and convoy international delegations during WEF ASEAN 2018 in September in Hanoi.

WEF ASEAN 2018 is the largest multilateral event in Vietnam in 2018 which will take place at the National Convention Center, Hanoi from September 11 to 13. The event, including nearly 60 discussion sessions, would draw the participation of about 1,000 high-ranking officials from many countries in the region, as well as entrepreneurs from international organizations and world leading groups.

WEF ASEAN 2018 is a forum for international leaders and entrepreneurs to share ideas and policies to promote startups and measures to tackle the issues that the Industrial Revolution 4.0 have brought about to ASEAN countries and the region.

The Traffic Police Force is in charge of ensuring absolute traffic safety and order, and convoying participating high-level delegations during the event.

The Traffic Police Force would mobilize maximum forces, means and technical equipment, and implement synchronous measures to control traffic accidents and minimize the number of serious traffic accidents, as well as respond quickly and effectively to any incidents that might affect the WEF ASEAN 2018.

The Traffic Police Force has drawn up specific plans to ensure absolute safety in receiving and convoying participating delegations. In addition, the unit has set up working groups to control and direct traffic flows and protect the delegations along the routes while carefully examining vehicles and checking profiles and qualifications of drivers serving the event. The force in collaboration with relevant units has also prepared approaches to prevent conspiracy and disturbance and terrorism activities of hostile forces.

Earlier, the Traffic Police Department had provided professional training and regulations practices for traffic police officers with the aim of showing an image of friendly and responsible traffic police officers in the eyes of international friends.
