Police unit holds workshop on law enforcement in immigration work

PSNews - The Department of Immigration under the Ministry of Public Security (MPS) on November 6 held a workshop on enhancing the efficiency of law enforcement in immigration work. Senior Lieutenant General Tran Van Du, Deputy Director of the Department of Immigration chaired the event. 

The workshop, an activity in response to the Vietnam Law Day, aimed to turn law study into practical and regular activities among police officers of the unit, contributing to improving their awareness and raising their sense of law observance.

At the workshop, participants have discussed 5 topics related to law enforcement in migration and immigration work. Presentations at the event also pointed out some shortcomings, and discussed the causes and solutions to overcome these shortcomings in the coming time.

Speaking at the event, Senior Colonel Tran Van Du asked the leaders of the unit to note opinions and recommendations of agencies, organizations and individuals on the work in order to advise the competent authorities on the building and implementation of the legal documents on immigration.

The unit should also promptly detect, prevent and fight against any conspiracies and activities of hostile and reactionary forces; resolutely handle acts of taking advantage of the laws to infringe upon national security, social order and interests of the State, and legitimate rights and interests of organizations and individuals.
