Policemen help people overcome consequences of typhoon Doksuri

PSNews - Hundreds of policemen in Quang Binh and Ha Tinh provinces have come to storm-hit localities to help locals overcome the typhoon’s consequences.

Typhoon Doksuri caused heavy damages to Ky Anh town, Ha Tinh province. According to statistics, 17,803 houses were ruined; 100% of the aquaculture area was destroyed; and the communications, water and electricity supply systems were seriously damaged.

Shortly after the typhoon weakened, the Ky Anh town police deployed force in coordination with local urban social order units to clear up main roads and remove fallen electricity posts in order to keep the traffic flow.

At the same time, 370 police officers and troops were sent to 12 affected wards and communes to support people to overcome the consequences of the typhoon.

Thanks to the help of the Ky Anh police and other forces, the  Ky Anh town general hospital now operates normally and 35 out of 36 schools at all levels are temporarily settled for teaching and learning.

The Ky Anh town police also assigned 100 policemen to carrying out the security and order tasks in the localities before, during and after the typhoon came to prevent theft and robbery. The force also collaborated with the intersectoral mission to examine market prices and prevent those that may take advantage of the disaster to increase prices of commodities.

In response to the consequences and the losses of Quang Binh people, Mobile Police Battalion No.3 of the Quang Binh provincial Police mobilized 80 police officers and troops to help victims in Minh Hoa district, Quang Binh province.

Senior Lieutenant Nguyen Nhu Dung – Deputy Commander of Mobile Police Battalion No.3 said, “Assigned with the mission, troops of the whole unit immediately came to the scene to help storm-hit locals. Seeing the damages, we all very sympathized and promised to strive to help the locals.”

The mobile police force of the Ministry of Public Security has been concentrating on helping storm-hit households, with priorities given to national contributors and needy households, lonesome elderly and local schools.

Such practical and meaningful deeds of the police force have left a good impression and an image of humane and brave policemen on local people.
