Promoting the role of the elderly in the “All people protecting national security" movement

PSNews - The Ministry of Public Security in coordination with the Vietnam Elderly Association held a conference to honor the advanced examples of the elderly in the movement of “All people protecting national security” in the 2016-2021 period, on December 10. Politburo member and Minister of Public Security General To Lam, on behalf of the Party and State leaders, attended the conference.

Member of the Party Central Committee and Deputy Minister of Public Security Lieutenant General Le Quoc Hung and Chairman of the Vietnam Elderly Association Nguyen Thanh Binh  co-chaired the conference.

Present at the conference were also former Vice President of the State Nguyen Thi Doan, representatives of leaders of the Vietnam Fatherland Front, Central committees, ministries, branches, mass organizations, former leaders of the Ministry of Public Security, former leaders of the Central Committee of the Vietnam Elderly Association, and 139 typical examples of the elderly nationwide with excellent achievements the movement of “All people protecting national security” in the 2016-2021 period.

Speaking at the conference, on behalf of the Party and State leaders, the Public Security Central Party Committee and the Ministry of Public Security, General To Lam warmly congratulated, praised and thanked the Central Committee of the Vietnam Elderly Association for its close coordination with the Ministry of Public Security in ensuring national security and public order in recent years.

General To Lam emphasized that the Public Security Forces had a tradition of always being closely associated with the people, relying on the people and serving the people, including the elderly.

For their parts, elderly people always provide greate support for the Public Security Forces to complete their tasks.

In the coming time, in order to continue to improve the efficiency of coordination and promote the role of the elderly in the “All people protecting national security” movement, General To Lam hopes that the Public Security Forces and the Vietnam Elderly Association will continue closely coordinating design and propose strategic advice on protecting national security and maintaining social order and safety while mobilizing the people to follow the guidelines of the Party, policies and laws of the State and settling conflicts among people.
