PSF ensure absolute safety and security for 39th ASEANAPOL Conference

PSNews – The 39th ASEANAPOL Conference in Hanoi has closed successfully. In order to achieve this success, a number of agencies and units of the Ministry of Public Security (MPS) had been mobilized to prepare and run the conference as well as to provide various services and ensure absolute safety for all participating international delegations.

According to Lieutenant General Tran Van Ve, Chief of the Police Investigation Authority under the MPS, Deputy Head of the Organizing Board, and Head of the Vietnamese delegation, the number of delegates participating in this year’s conference was larger than ever before.

Therefore, the MPS mobilized thousands of police officers and soldiers to serve this conference.

For example, hundreds of police officers and students at public security schools who are good at foreign languages were tasked to be liaison officers for all international delegations.

Meanwhile, different sub-committees of the Organizing Committee were in charge of different jobs or sections of the conference, such as the opening ceremony, closing ceremony, reception, convey and dinners.

During the conference, the Melia Hotel and Hotel du Parc, where all international delegations stayed, were strictly protected by the Guard Police High Command.

From August 17, when the conference was opened, the security force had to protect security and safety for  over 1,000 people. The guard and security police forces did not finish their tasks until all international delegations had left Vietnam.

In the area around the conference’s venue, police officers and soldiers of the High Command of Mobile Police, the Hanoi Mobile Police Regiment and the police force of Hoan Kiem District were deployed to guard and ensure safety, as well as to deal with any unexpected security and traffic situations.

According to Lieutenant Colonel Vu Van Hai, Commander of Battalion 2 under the Hanoi Mobile Police Regiment, the unit conducted patrols around the clock around the conference venue and the accommodations of the participating international delegations to ensure security and safety for the conference and international delegations.

Senior Colonel Pham Huu Thinh, Chief of the Staff Agency of the High Command of Mobile Police also said that, in spite of the hot weather, the mobile police officers and soldiers always maintained good working styles in line with the public security order and principle, leaving good impressions on international delegates.

On the sidelines of the conference, delegates also visited some famous places in Hanoi. The Hanoi Traffic Police force also well conducted convoy and ensure traffic safety for all delegations.
