Public Security Trade Union responds to Action Month for Labor Safety and Hygiene 2021

The Executive Committee of the Public Security Trade Union (PSTU) recently held a ceremony in Hanoi to hold an event in response to the Workers’ Month, the Action Month for Labor Safety and Hygiene and the Action Month for Environment 2021 launched by the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor.

The ceremony saw the attendance of leaders of the Ministry of Public Security (MPS), the Ministry of Labor, Invalids and Social Affairs and the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor, among other delegates.

Over the past years, under the directions of the MPS leadership and the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor, the PSTU has organized various political activities among public security workers.

In recognition of the PSTU's achievements, the Ministry of Labor, Invalids and Social Affairs awarded an Emulation Flag to the Executive Committee of the PSTU. Seven outstanding chapters of the PSTU have also received the MPS's Certificates of Merit for ensuring labor safety and hygiene their members in 2020.

On this occasion, the MPS presented 1,200 packages of gifts to needy workers while the PSTU handed out 50 scholarships to Trade Union members’ children with good school records. The PSTU also presented a house of compassion, worth VND50 million, to a poor Trade Union member.

Delegates at the ceremony also witnessed the signing of an emulation covenant for 2021 among emulation groupings under the PSTU and a cooperation agreement on implementing the “Binging more benefits for Trade Union members and workers" program between the PSTU and its partners.

Speaking at the ceremony, Deputy Minister Nguyen Van Thanh and Mr. Tran Van Thuat, Vice Chairman of the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor praised the PSTU for its achievements in trade union activities over the past time.

In the coming time, to successfully implement all its assigned tasks, the two leaders asked the Executive Committee of the PSTU to organize more extensive political education drives and emulation movements among public security workers while directing their affiliates to respond effectively to the Worker’s Month, the Action Month for Labor Safety and Hygiene, and the Action Month for Environment 2021.

The PSTU should also attach great importance to ensuring interests, safe and hygienic working conditions for public security workers, the leaders added.

The two leaders also asked the Trade Union of the Public Security Forces to actively advise its upper levels on policies and plans to continuously improve material and spiritual lives of all public security workers.

*On this occasion, the PSTU also organized a tree-planting event in response to the Prime Minister's call of planting a billion trees across Vietnam.
