Public security youths bring warm Tet to Bat Xat

PSNews - After a 350-km tiring journey, a social charitable mission from the Youth Union Chapter of the Public Security Department for Information and Communications and 198 Hospital together with kind donors finally arrived at Bat Xat District, Lao Cai Province to present Tet gifts to needy people.

Den Thang is one of the poorest communes of Bat Xat District and of the Lao Cai Province. It has over 2,000 households with 100% of the population of the H'mong ethnicity. The local residents still face many difficulties in life, due to difficult access terrains and poor roads, harsh weather with dense fog and extreme cold weather.

In Den Thang Commune, doctors from 198 Hospital offered free medical check-ups and medicines to hundreds of local residents. The mission also held the program "Sharing love" to hand over a bookcase, 50 lighting bulbs and 100 packs of Tet gifts, including warm blankets, clothes and necessaries, to teachers and students of Den Thang kindergarten and primary school.

The charitable program of the Youth Union Chapter of the Public Security Department for Information and Communications and 198 Hospital was supported by Tra Vinh Environment Company, Vietfoods, TV Pharm, and the Green Volunteer Club.

Within the framework of the charitable program, the mission also presented 200 packs of gifts, each worth 300,000 VND, from Tra Vinh Environment Company to 200 needy households in Den Thang.

Senior Lieutenant Tran Quang Huy, Secretary of the Youth Union chapter of the Public Security Department for Information and Communications said that, although the Tet gifts were not very significant in value but they hold the sentiment of the participating units and donors to needy people and students of Den Thang Commune. He hoped that the gifts would contribute to ease the difficulties of local people, teachers and students when the spring comes.

Mr. Vu Van Thang, Secretary of the Den Thang Commune People's Committee was touched thanking the young police officers and soldiers from the Public Security Department for Information and Communications, 198 Hospital and kind donors for their sentiment and support for local people. He believed that these meaningful gifts will help local residents celebrate a happier and warmer Tet.
