Quang Ngai Police brace for upcoming storm

PSNews – The Traffic Police Division under the Quang Ngai Provincial Police Department has mobilized its police officers and soldiers to be on 24/24h duty and ensure road traffic safety in response to storm No.6.

Duc Pho District, Quang Ngai Province is forecast as one of the areas that may be devastated by the upcoming storm No.6. Therefore, local people have sought to consolidate their houses and business establishments to minimize possible damages.

The Quang Ngai Traffic Police also assigned working groups to National Highway 1A and 24 to regularly check the traffic situation and clear the road and landslides, ensuring traffic safety for people.

At Sa Ky and Sa Huynh ports, the waterway traffic police also maintained forces to direct local fishermen to take shelters.

According to Senior Colonel Ho Van Thu, Head of the Quang Ngai Traffic Police Division, the unit has advised the Director of the Provincial Police Department to direct all local police forces to assign ready forces and means in response of the storm.

The division also assigned 76 police officers and soldiers to be on 24/24h duty, carry out patrols on main waterways and ports, and prepare forces and means for possible rescue missions.

Earlier, in order to proactively response to the storm and flooding, on November 9, the Mo Duc District Police, QuangNgai Province also held a drill on using canoes for rescue missions.
