Many people have had an unpleasant experience in Ha Long during the National Day vacation when the price of accommodation doubled.

But, according to the People’s Committee of Ha Long, the number of hotels and other accommodation services nearby the famous tourist attraction of Bai Chay beach have risen dramatically, particularly apartments for rent, this year. As a result, a shortage of rooms is unlikely to happen and the price of accommodation in Ha Long beach may not increase much.

The authorities of QuangNinh province as well as Ha Long city have sent various inspection teams to check food hygiene and safety, accommodation, fire prevention and fighting, prices at hotels and restaurants.

Lieutenant Colonel Thai Van Giap, Head of the Police Post of Bai Chay ward, informed reporters that during the peak season, Bai Chay welcome a huge number of people, including some 20,000 visitors, 10,000 laborers in addition to its 260,000 residents, which causes traffic congestion and unreasonable rise in prices of food and accommodation.

The Police Station of Bai Chay has recently increased checks of motels in an effort to prevent criminals from other localities from coming to the locality to commit crimes.

According to Lieutenant Colonel Le Huu Thang, Head of the Criminal Police Section of Ha Long, the unit had successfully cracked down on 4 cases of robbery, arrested 4 persons and 4 cases of theft, and arrested 6 persons involved. He stressed that security and order in Ha Long, particularly in tourist attractions, have now been under control.

However, he also warned tourist to stay alert as bad subjects might still commit crimes at crowded places.
