Scientific workshop on prison management held in Hanoi

PSNews – Major General Le Quoc Hung, Deputy Minister of Public Security in October attended a scientific workshop on the 70-year history of foundation and development of the Police Force of Management of Prison, Compulsory Re-education Center and Reformatory.

Speaking at the event, Lieutenant General Le Minh Hung, Director of the Police Department of Management of Prison, Compulsory Re-education Center and Reformatory stressed that the workshop created an opportunity for all officers and soldiers at the department to recall the history of the force, and to give good ideas and working methods so that the force can successfully fulfill its political tasks related to the execution of prison sentences.

The workshop received 88 papers and scientific reports and 6 speeches, focusing on sharing working experience and suggesting solutions to the limitations in the force’s task performance, and at the same time highlighting  the achievements and victories of the force in the past 70 years.

Speaking at the event, Deputy Minister Le Quoc Hung summed up the 3 main issues that delegates to the workshop raised. First, speeches affirmed the decisive factor of the Party and support of people all victories of the Public Security Forces in general and the prison management’s police force in particular.

Delegates also underscored the role of the prison management’s police force in the cause of protecting national security and ensuring social security and order, and supporting ex-prisoners and offenders to re-integrate into the community.

Finally, they believed that good prison management will contribute positively to the renewal cause of our country.

The Deputy Minister also suggested that, in the coming time, the Department should actively grasp the situation and advise the Party, the State and the Ministry of Public Security to issue policies on education for inmates and ex-offenders.

He also asked the force to continuously improve the quality and efficiency of the re-education for inmates and juvenile detainees while ensuring security and safety at all detention facilities in any circumstances.
