Security camera operates effectively in Thua Thien Hue

PSNews - In recent years, many local authorities in Thua Thien Hue Province have mobilized residents to install security cameras in residential areas.

Kim Long ward started installing camera in April 2017, and became the first ward of Hue city to install security cameras on main roads and at intersections.

Lieutenant Colonel Nguyen Xuan Di, Head of the Kim Long Ward Police said that: "The security camera system serves as efficient aids that help the police force successfully crack down on many robbery cases, arrest criminals and return lost assets to people."

In Thuan Loc ward, local residents have contributed over 200 million VND to install 100 cameras on many streets of the ward.

According to Ms. Phan Thi Cuc, Chairman of the Thuan Loc Ward People’s Committee, the security camera system has been installed since 2017.

At first, people were hesitant. After mass mobilization drives conducted by the local authority and police force, most local residents contributed money to the installation of security cameras.

Now, the security and order situation in the area is well managed. The number of robbery, drug-related crimes has reduced dramatically.

Lieutenant Colonel Le Van Tam, Head of the Thuan Loc Ward Police said, after more than 3 months, 15 out of 19 residential groups have installed security cameras. All the data of more than 100 cameras are transferred to the main server at the ward police station, helping the police monitor and maintain local order and security.

In Thuan An coastal ward (Phu Vang district), the security camera system, invested in by local people, has made positive changes in ensuring security and order in the locality.

According to Lieutenant Colonel Nguyen Van Hien, Head of the Thuan An Town Police, by February 2018, the unit installed dozens of cameras in 15 locations with a total cost of more than 150 million VND.

Senior Colonel Bui Hong Phong, Head of the Phu Vang District Police affirmed that the security camera model has brought about many practical results, contributing to ensuring the security and order in the district and promoting local socio-economic development.

In the coming time, the District Police will replicate this model in other areas, especially in coastal communes and in areas with complex security and order situations.
