Task Force Police Unit 363 helps reduce crime rates in HCMC

PSNews – Over the past year, the Task Force Police Unit 363 has achieved fruitful results, affirming its important role in preventing and fighting against crimes in Ho Chi Minh City (HCMC).

During 10 months after the unit was established (December 3, 2018 – October 10, 2019), working teams of the 363 Unit took comprehensive approaches to suppress crimes, and handled a number of law violations on streets and public places.

In particular, the unit has handled 22,210 cases of law violations: 21,533 cases of traffic safety violations, and 677 cases of criminal cases of theft, drug-trafficking, usury, public disturbances and illegal use and storage of rudimentary weapons.

In the third quarter of 2019, the unit discovered and handled over 98 criminal cases with 158 suspects, seized many exhibits, detected and handled 2,458 cases of traffic safety violations.

According to Lieutenant General Le Dong Phong, Director of the Ho Chi Minh City Municipal Police Department, Task Force Police Unit 363 has contributed to preventing crimes, as a result the crime rates in the city dropped sharply.

Thanks to the operation of the unit, the robbery rates reduced by 10%.

He also said that, in the coming time, especially before, during and after the Lunar New Year festival, the HCMC police will implement synchronous measures and mobilize forces to suppress crimes. Task Force Police Unit 363 will closely coordinate with other forces to create a strong posture of ensuring public order and security in the city.

For its great contribution, the operation of Task Force Police Unit 363 was also listed as one of the 10 typical events of HCMC in 2019.
