Tay Giang District Police support people in disaster relief

As reported earlier by the PSNews, Storm No.5 triggered heavy rains and floods in Tay Giang district, Quang Nam, on September 18, causing various damages.

Under the direction of the District’s Party Committee and People’s Committee, the Tay Giang District Police Station deployed forces to actively support local people in overcoming the consequences of the flooding.

Although no causalities have been reported, the record flood has caused great damages of property, according to Lieutenant Colonel Mai Thanh Tam, Head of the Tay Giang District Police Station.

The police and other forces coordinated to rescue 6 local people in Ahu village, A Tieng commune, who were isolated by the flooding.

After the flood receded, officers of the District Police Station along with police officers of affected communes went to all villages to support local people in overcoming the consequences of floods.

According to preliminary statistics, 130 major landslides happened in Tay Giang district; a rural cable bridge in Abanh 2 village, Tr’hy commune was swept away by the floods; nearly 60 households affected by floods and landslides were evacuated. The property damage was estimated at 30 billion VND.
