Thanh Hoa Police help locals overcome flood consequences in time to welcome new academic year

PSNews - Over 100 police officers and soldiers of the Muong Lat and Quan Hoa District Police Stations were mobilized to flood-affected communes, in collaboration with local schools and other forces to help overcome the consequences so students could return to school for the new academic year.

Recent heavy rains along with landslides made Quan Hoa and Muong Lat Districts, Thanh Hoa Province almost isolated from other localities. The police stations of the 2 districts mobilized maximum forces to ensure security and order and traffic safety, and carried out search and rescue missions while, in collaboration with local authority and functional units, urgently overcoming the consequences of the flooding.

On September 5, over 100 police officers and soldiers of the Muong Lat and Quan Hoa District Police Stations were mobilized to flood-affected communes,  in collaboration with local schools and other forces to help overcome the flooding aftermath so local students could return to school for the new academic year.

All three-level schools of Tam Chung Commune, namely kindergarten, primary school and secondary school, had to hold a common new school year ceremony at Tam Chung Commune Primary School. As the schools’ facilities were terribly devastated by heavy rains and floods, local teachers and students would still suffer a lot of difficulties.

The police in collaboration with local teachers and people cleaned up the schools and surrounding areas, and arranged classrooms for the new academic year.

In Trung Son Commune, Quan Hoa District, an opening ceremony of the new academic year was organized at Trung Son Secondary School for all three schools, including the commune's kindergarten, primary school and secondary school. As some school buildings collapsed or were still waterlogged, local teachers and students had to use the operation building of Company 47 (Trung Son Hydropowe Plant) as classrooms for students.

The Quan Hoa Police Force also implemented plans to ensure security and order and traffic safety for local schools and students on the first day of the new academic year.

Earlier, on September 4, the Quan Hoa Police Force mobilized its police officers and soldiers to donate their one-day pays, totaling 12 million VND, to flood-stricken local people.

Besides, the Youth Union Chapter of the Quan Hoa District Police also presented 100 packs of gifts, including cakes, sweets and instant noodles, to students of Co Me village, Trung Son Commune.
