Thua Thien Hue Police organize martial arts festival

PSNews - The Thua Thien Hue Provincial Police Department on April 11 organized the 1st martial arts festival in 2019. 

The festival saw the participation of 12 teams with some 300 athletes who are police officers and soldiers from various police units under the provincial police department.

The teams competed in 4 categories: Individual special skill performance, group performance, scenario fight, and talent performance.

Speaking at the opening ceremony, Senior Colonel Le Van Vu, Deputy Director of the Thua Thien Hue Provincial Police Department, Head of the festival organizing board affirmed that martial arts and physical training is practical activities very important to the armed forces in general and the Public Security Forces in particular.

He also said that the festival aimed to maintain and promote the movement of martial arts and physical training among local police officers and soldiers, thereby creating an active emulation atmosphere, promoting physical training and sports movements across local police units, contributing to improving both physical and spiritual strength, and fighting abilities of police officers and soldiers, and helping them successfully fulfill their assignments.

After a day of fierce competition with many outstanding performances, the Thua Thien Hue Police Directorate awarded the first prize to the Hue City Police Sub-department, the second prize to the Administrative Management and People's Public Security Division, and the third prizes to the Investigation Police Division, Huong Tra Town Police and Phu Vang District Police. In addition, the organizers also presented many side- awards for units and individuals with excellent performances.
