Traffic police officers show off excellent driving skills

The Traffic Police Department on June 29 held a meeting to conclude the “Best driver” contest for traffic police officers and grant prizes to excellent drivers, with impressive performances from contestants.

The traffic police officers showed the techniques of driving police cars in a zigzag pattern to simulate high speed.

The "Best driver" contest was closed after two months of competition in the People’s Police College II in Ho Chi Minh City from May 31st – June 14th, and in the Drivers Training Center of the Traffic Police Department in Ha Nam province from June 15th to 29.

As many as 320 drivers from 64 traffic police units at all levels competed in the contest with two qualifying rounds and the finale.

Candidates took several tests, including knowledge of the Traffic Law, traffic safety regulations, skills to maintain and repair vehicles, and skills to drive vehicles in various terrains. 80 outstanding candidates were selected for the finale.

Traffic police officers face various complex situations while performing their duties, so they are supposed to be good at not only professional expertise, but also driving vehicles.

The contest was held to check traffic police officers’ knowledge of road traffic laws, driving skills and ability to handle traffic-related situations.
