At the meeting, Deputy Minister Le Quoc Hung highlighted the positive developments in the Vietnam–Egypt bilateral relationship over the past 60 years since the establishment of diplomatic ties between Vietnam and Egypt, stating that the bilateral cooperation has now expanded across various areas, particularly politics, diplomacy, trade and economy, law enforcement and people-to-people exchange.

The guest revealed that during the Vietnamese President’s official visit, the two countries aimed to elevate their relations to a Comprehensive Partnership.

Deputy Minister Le Quoc Hung noted that the Ministry of Public Security of Vietnam and the Ministry of Interior of Egypt have witnessed positive results of bilateral cooperation in recent years.

Accordingly, from 2023 to 2024, a number of ministerial-level and departmental-level delegations of the Vietnamese Ministry of Public Security visited Egypt. Besides, the two sides regularly exchanged views on potential areas of cooperation, such as building a legal cooperation framework and organizing capacity-building programs for peacekeeping police forces of the two countries.

The two sides also agreed to closely coordinate to ensure the security and safety of their citizens living, studying and working in each other’s countries, while promoting cooperation in training and capacity-building of law enforcement officers, especially those to join UN peacekeeping forces, through courses at Egyptian training centers.

The Egyptian side promised to offer Arabic language training courses to Vietnamese officers, and invite Vietnamese police officers to participate in seminars, workshops and training programs on counter-terrorism and other specialized areas hosted by Egyptian law enforcement agencies.

Concluding the meeting, Deputy Minister Le Quoc Hung extended an invitation to the leadership of the Egyptian Ministry of Interior to pay an official visit to Vietnam and attend the Signing Ceremony of the United Nations Convention against Cybercrime (the Hanoi Convention), scheduled in October 2025 in Hanoi.
