Minister To Lam highly appreciated the results achieved during the First Deputy Ministerial-Level Security Dialogue between the Vietnamese Ministry of Public Security (MPS) and the Office of the National Security Council of India held earlier on the day at the MPS headquarters. The dialogue contributed to promoting the political trust and cooperation between the two sides.

Minister To Lam hoped, in the coming time, the Vietnamese MPS and the Office of the National Security Council of India will continue to promote cooperation in the fields of mutual interest, contributing to benefiting the peoples of the two countries, as well as the peace, stability, cooperation and development in the region and the world.

Minister To Lam urged the two sides to continue to hold high-ranking delegation exchanges; along with  information and experience exchanges on the control of both traditional and non-traditional crimes, especially transnational crime and hi-tech crime.

Mr. Shiri Rajinder Khanna, Deputy National Security Advisor of India thanked Minister To Lam for the warm reception. He hoped that, in the coming time, the cooperation between the Vietnamese MPS and relevant agencies of the Republic of India will achieve more fruitful results in the fields of ensuring order and safety, crime prevention and fight.

He also affirmed that he will try his best to contribute to bringing the partnership and cooperation between the two countries to a new high level.

* Earlier, on the same day, as part of the implementation of the Joint Statement between Vietnam and India and the Memorandum of Understanding between the Vietnamese MPS and the Office of the National Security Council of India, the First Deputy Ministerial-Level Security Dialogue between the Vietnamese Ministry of Public Security (MPS) and the Office of the National Security Council of India was organized. The delegation of the Vietnamese MPS was led by Senior Lieutenant General Bui Van Nam while the delegation of the National Security Council of India headed by Mr. Shri Rajinder Khanna.

Speaking at the Dialogue, Deputy Minister Bui Van Nam stated, the recent political and security situation in the region and world has seen positive changes. However, the world continues to evolve rapidly with many unpredictable factors, creating both opportunities and challenges that impact the development and stability of each country.

The Asia-Pacific region sees dynamic economic development alongside potential risks of instability. Non-traditional security threats such as armed conflict, freedom of navigation violations, and transnational crimes, are on the rise. Such threats require the close cooperation between functional forces of regional countries, including Vietnam and India.

In this context, the cooperation between Vietnam and India continue to develop in all areas. Deputy Minister Bui Van Nam stressed that the Vietnamese MPS was honored to host the First Deputy Ministerial-Level Security Dialogue between Vietnam and India.

This was an important milestone, according to the Deputy Minister, that demonstrated the effective cooperation mechanism between the Vietnamese MPS and the Office of the National Security Council of India as well as with relevant agencies of India, in the field of security and order. This also helped step up the implementation of the comprehensive strategic partnership between Vietnam and India.

at this meeting, security leaders of the two sides agreed to hold such a dialogue in every two years to share information and issues on regional and global security and order as well as other issues of mutual concerns; and exchange measures to respond to non-traditional security challenges, especially the prevention and fight against terrorism, transnational crime, and hi-tech crime.

Deputy National Security Advisor of India Shiri Rajinder Khanna highly appreciated the results of bilateral cooperation and believed that the First Deputy Ministerial-Level Security Dialogue achieved great success, contributing to expanding cooperation between the two countries, as well as between the Vietnamese MPS and relevant agencies of India in the future.
