Vietnam, Kazakhstan boost friendly relations and security cooperation

Senior Lieutenant General To Lam, Minister of Public Security received Ambassador of the Republic of Kazakhstan to Vietnam Beketzhan Zhumakhanov on July 4 afternoon.

Addressing the reception, Minister To Lam expressed his pleasure at sound developments in comprehensive relations and cooperation between the Republic of Kazakhstan and Vietnam in recent years.

He underscored that in 2017, the two sides will organize many activities on the occasion of the 25th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic ties between Vietnam and Kazakhstan.

The Government and people of Vietnam always remember all valuable support and assistance of the Government and people of Kazakhstan to Vietnam and consider Kazakhstan an important partner of Vietnam in Central Asia.

Currently, the bilateral trade turnover of the two countries reached USD 276.5 million. In the coming time, it will hopefully increase sharply.

Based on the past achievements, Senior Lieutenant General To Lam hoped that the Ministry of Public Security of Vietnam and law enforcement agencies of Kazakhstan will boost cooperation in all fields.

Additionally, he expressed his delight at the signing of deals on criminal extradition, judicial assistance of the two countries and closing negotiations on convict transfer agreement.

Besides, Minister To Lam wished that as the Ambassador of the Republic of Kazakhstan to Vietnam, Mr. Beketzhan Zhumakhanov will continuously make further contribution to developing relations between the two countries and serve as a bridge for relations between the Ministry of Public Security of Vietnam and relevant agencies of Kazakhstan with the aim of ensuring the absolute security for both countries and protecting legitimate interests of the Vietnamese and Kazakhtan people.

For his part, Ambassador Beketzhan Zhumakhanov thanked Minister To Lam for the warm reception. He recognized all achievements in the cooperation between the two countries.

In the coming time, he vowed that he will try his best to strengthen friendly relations between the two countries in general and comprehensive cooperation between the Ministry of Public Security of Vietnam and relevant agencies of Kazakhstan in particular.
