Vietnam, Korean police complete project to improve capacity of criminal science

PSNews - A ceremony to close the 2nd phase of the project "Improving Criminal Science Capacity of the Ministry of Public Security of Vietnam" funded by the Korean Government through the National Police Agency took place at the Institute of Science and Technology of the Ministry of Public Security, on the afternoon of June 5.

From 2017 to 2019, the Institute of Science and Technology and the Department of Foreign Affairs of the Ministry of Public Security of Vietnam cooperated with the Korean National Police Agency to implement the 1st phase of the project.

The Korea-aided equipment and training programs in the 1st phase focused on fingerprint identification skills and DNA assessment.

The 1st phase of the project had contributed to improving the capacity of the criminal engineering force in general and the Institute of Science and Technology in particular.

The 2nd phase ran from 2020 to 2022 aiming at repairing and equipping the Digital and Electronic Inspection Laboratory (Vietnam), aiding equipment to the Vietnamese field examination police force and training field examination, digital and electronic assessment, and fire and explosion technical assessment.

On this occasion, Deputy Minister Nguyen Duy Ngoc presented the logo of the Vietnamese Public Security Forces to Commander Yoon Hee Keun and officers of the Korean National Police Agency who had made contributions to the 2nd phase of the project. 

For his part, Commander Yoon Hee Keun presented the logo of the Korean National Police to Deputy Minister Nguyen Duy Ngoc and letters of thanks to officers under the Ministry of Public Security of Vietnam, who had made achievements in the 2nd phase of the project. 

The Koean Police Commander also offered the scene examination equipment to the Ministry of Public Security of Vietnam.
