Vietnam- US law enforcement agencies collaborate in the fight against crime

PSNews - The Academy of People's Security in collaboration with functional units of the Ministry of Public Security and the US Embassy in Vietnam held the closing ceremony of the refresher course “Investigation of corruption crimes” lectured by US experts, on August 19, in Hanoi.

Present at the ceremony Deputy Ambassador of the United States to Vietnam Melissa A.Bishop, Director of Vietnam Office of the Bureau of International Narcotics and Law Enforcement Affairs at the US Embassy in Hanoi Thomas Lyons, Deputy Attaché of the US Federal Bureau of Investigation Sean Yan, as well as high-ranking officers of the Ministry of Public Security, namely Deputy Minister of Public Security Lieutenant General Le Quoc Hung, Rector of the People's Security Academy Lieutenant General Le Van Thang and leaders of functional departments and units under the Ministry of Public Security.

After five-day course, experts of the US Federal Bureau of Investigation provided theoretical knowledge and practical skills in the field of investing corruption cases. With the knowledge acquired from the training course, the participant Vietnamese public security officers are expected to perform their duties better in the future.

On behalf of the Ministry of Public Security leadership, Deputy Minister Le Quoc Hung sincerely thanked the US Embassy, the Bureau of International Narcotics and Law Enforcement Affairs, the US Federal Bureau of Investigation, and US experts for providing the training course and sharing their rich knowledge and experience with Vietnamese public security officers.

Deputy Minister Le Quoc Hung expressed his belief that in the coming time, the cooperation relationship between the Ministry of Public Security of Vietnam and the US Embassy and US law enforcement agencies will develop further, especially in hi-tech crime prevention and combat, money laundering and human trafficking.

At the same time, Deputy Minister Le Quoc Hung requested the People's Security Academy, as one of the leading training institutions under the management of the Ministry of Public Security, to coordinate with functional units of the Ministry of Public Security to collaborate with the US Embassy in Vietnam and US partners to open more training courses for Vietnamese public security officers in the future.
