Vietnamese counter-narcotics police hold training course for Cambodian law enforcement forces

PSNews - The Counter-Narcotics Police Department under the Ministry of Public Security of Vietnam has opened a training workshop on identifying and managing drug addicts, illegal drug users, detoxification and post-detox management for Cambodian officers, from December 5 to 9, in Tay Ninh city, Tay Ninh province.

Present at the opening session were Deputy Director of the Counter-Narcotics Police Department Colonel Hoang Tam Hieu, Deputy Director of the Tay Ninh Provincial Police Department Senior Colonel Nguyen Quoc Toan while the Cambodian delegation included Deputy Director of the Department of Law, Training and Rehabilitation under the Cambodia Drug Control Committee Yin Yoeut, as well as representatives from Cambodia's counter-narcotics agencies.

The workshop focuses on discussing the overview of addicts and users of illegal drugs; detection and management of addicts and users of narcotics, post-detoxification management; medical treatment of drug addicts; Vietnam's law on detoxication. 

In the training course, officers from the Kingdom of Cambodia will visit a detoxication facility in Tay Ninh province.

The training workshop is an opportunity for officers from the two countries to share their experiences and knowledge of management of addicts, illegal drug users, as well as detoxication and post-addiction management in the two countries.

At the end of the training workshop, the trainees will be awarded a certificate, and hopefully they will use their acquired knowledge from the course to achieve more achievements in their work, contributing to improving the efficiency of coordination in preventing and fighting illicit drug trafficking between Vietnam and Cambodia.
