The meeting was took place within the framework of the official visit to the Republic of Indonesia and the participation in the 44th General Assembly of the ASEAN Inter-Parliamentary Assembly (AIPA-44) of Vietnamese National Assembly Chairman Vuong Dinh Hue.
At the meeting, Deputy Minister Le Quoc Hung underlined that the Vietnamese Ministry of Public Security is willing to strengthen cooperation with the Indonesian National Police in all fields, contributing to extensively deepening the strategic partnership between the two countries as well as creating a peaceful and stable environment in the region and bringing prosperity to the two peoples in the coming time.
The two sides agreed to further exchange high-ranking delegations as well as continue the Ministerial-level Security Dialouge between the Vietnamese Ministry of Public Security and the Indonesian National Police on an annually rotating basis and effectively implement the signed cooperation documents on crime prevention and citizen protection.
The two sides also agreed to step up the negotiation and sign a Protocol on Amendments to the Memorandum of Understanding on Crime Prevention and Combat between the Socialist Republic of Vietnam and the Republic of Indonesia on the occasion of the coming 17th ASEAN Ministerial Meeting on Transnational Crime, which will take place in Labuan Bajo, Indonesia from Agust 20 to August 23, 2023.
The two sides also agreed to enhance cooperation and mutual support for each other in ASEAN multilateral frameworks on transnational crimes such as the ASEAN Ministerial Meeting on Transnational Crime (AMMTC), ASEAN Ministerial Meeting on Drugs Matter (AMMD), ASEAN Chiefs of Police Conference.
