Earlier on August 9, the Vietnamese Minister of Public Security and his Lao counterpart signed supplementary documents adding several contents to the cooperation plan between the two sides, including a project in which the Vietnamese MPS supports the Lao MPS in building headquarters for the police of Lao communes located along the borderline of the two countries.

Under the direction of the Vietnamese MPS, the police of Ha Tinh province (Vietnam), in coordination with the Bolikhamxai provincial police (Laos), have overcome difficulties due to the COVID-19 pandemic to start the construction of the Ban Nathon Police Post, which is the first to be built within the framework of the project.

At the event, Deputy Minister Nguyen Duy Ngoc asked Ha Tinh provincial police to accelerate the construction progress while ensuring the highest quality of the Ban Nathon Police Post.

He also asked relevant units under the Vietnamese MPS to coordinate with Lao partners to speed up the project and complete the construction of headquarters for Lao police units in other communes in 2021 according to the directions of the two Ministers of Public Security of Vietnam and Laos.

The Vietnamese Deputy Minister believed that the two sides would tighten the ties in ensuring security and order along the shared border as well as effectively fight crimes of all kinds, especially transnational drug trafficking, contributing to maintaining peace and security in the two countries and promoting the special solidarity and traditional friendship between Vietnam and Laos.
