Writing camp on national security kicks off in Da Lat

PSNews – The 2nd writing camp named “For national security and peaceful life” was kicked off on June 13 in Da Lat City, Lam Dong Province.

This year’s writing camp on scripts for stage gathers 23 high-profile authors, whose scripts have staged and won high prizes at different stage contests.

At the opening ceremony, Lieutenant General, writer Huu Uoc, former Deputy Director of the General Department of Politics under the Ministry of Public Security, Chairman of the Public Security Writers’ Association, co-head of the organizing committee of the writing camp said that the Ministry of Public Security in association with the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism and the Vietnam Stage Artists’ Association has successfully organized 3 art festivals featuring the image of the public security officer over the past years.

In particular, in 2016, the Ministry of Public Security successfully organized the first edition of the stage script camp themed “For national security and peaceful life.” 22 high quality scripts were written at the camp, and many of them were staged and publically performed by professional art troupes, which left a deep impression on the audience, and contributed to further promoting the image of the public security officer.

The 2nd edition lasts 20 days, from June 4 to 23, and during the time, participating writers will be provided with favorable conditions so that they could create interesting scripts.

Prior to the opening ceremony, the participating authors had a field trip to the Nghe An Provincial Police Department, the Detention Center No.6, the Ha Tinh Provincial Police Department, the Quang Tri Provincial Police Department, the Nghia An Detention Center, and the Da Nang Municipal Police Department to learn about the history and development of each police unit, as well as the silent sacrifices of local police officers and soldiers.
